Vanessa Frances - Book Covers
Over the last few years I have designed four book covers for Vanessa Frances. Each of these has been an exploration in representing the content of the books while also working to capture the attention of someone browsing their local bookstore.
I not only designed the covers but also the internal illustrations for Laundry & Sentiments of Youth. Additionally I did the formatting for Sentiments of Youth, In Pursuit of Kinder Muses, and Through Neighboring Windows.

As technology advances, society crumbles, and the climate collapses, "Through Neighboring Windows" sets the stage for a world not so unlike our own.
Through an interlinked collection of eighteen stories that delve into the complexities of the human experience, the collection invites the reader to consider the impact of these forces on their lives, their communities, and their world.
Amidst the turmoil, we find the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of empathy.
"Through Neighboring Windows" is a reminder that, even in the midst of chaos, we have the power to shape our future and to bring about change, together.

Kinder Muses

in pursuit of kinder muses’ captures the essence of where we come from, who we are, and what inspires us to grow. Spoken through the perspective of four of the nine Ancient Greek muses comes a story of personal growth and revelations on what we allow to fuel our craftsmanship and intrinsic motivation. While grappling with mental and emotional health, as well as personal and familiar relationship struggles, Frances explores the many facets of creative identity, and the innately human ability to grow throughout a lifetime. There is beauty beyond hardship, discovered while tending to softer mediums, where we also so often find life, light, and ourselves.
Sentiments of Youth

The book is divided into four chapters, each building on the lessons from the last. "Sentiments of Youth" captures within its pages what it means to be young while growing older. It is as much of a memoir as it is a collection of poetry and prose. This time in your life is often portrayed as the epicenter of everything that is and everything that was. Instead, it is something you go through. You can get through it. You can grow through it. And you will.
Laundry

A collection of poetry, prose, and essays, touching on triumph and tragedy, overcoming one's own demons, abuse, as well as the bittersweetness of first love and first loss. as with dirty clothes, humans themselves are given the chance to wash, rinse, dry, and fold themselves over and over again. with every cycle, we gain more of our own wear and tear, adding to our own individuality. everything comes out in the wash.
